Indian Railways PNR Status Enquiry

PNR stands for “Passenger Name Record”. The PNR Status informs you about the status of your booked railway ticket (Confirmed, Waiting List, RAC etc). PNR Number is a 10 digit number printed on your railway ticket or sent to you by IRCTC via SMS after booking ticket online. Using this 10 digit PNR number you can check your ticket’s current booking status.

A passenger name record (PNR) is nothing but a record in the database of a computer reservation system (CRS) that contains the itinerary for a passenger, or a group of passengers traveling together.

When a passenger books an itinerary, the travel agent or travel website user will create a PNR in the computer reservation system it uses.
